Accountant / Assistant Controller

Location: 560 Graniteville Road Graniteville, VT 05654

Position available: Immediately

Under the responsibility of the Finance Controller, the candidate will play a key role at Rock of Ages Corporation within the Polycor Group. We're looking for someone to perform accounting functions and transaction processing for this subsidiary. Polycor is an international company in which the candidate will be able to develop to their full potential.

We are willing to train the right candidate to progress to Assistant Controller if experience is limited.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform month-end close functions.
  • Monitor capital asset purchases and maintain fixed asset module.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts.
  • Prepare adjusting entries related to inventory movements for multiple locations.
  • Review and post payroll entries.
  • Prepare monthly and year-end financial statements.
  • Prepare various production and financial reports for management.
  • Ensure quality and accuracy of all entries and prepared reports.
  • Compile financial data for our external audits.
  • Participate in the forecasting and budgeting process.
  • Perform back-up accounting functions for other team members.

As Assistant Controller, you will play a key role in maintaining financial integrity and ensuring operational efficiency. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree Majoring in Accounting.
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Microsoft Dynamics experience a plus.
  • Appropriate knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), an asset.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
