In order to support our operations in the US, we are looking to expand our accounting team in our office in Charlotte NC, with an accountant. 

The Role

As an Accountant on our team, you will be the backbone of our daily financial tracking. You will be responsible for full-cycle transactional bookkeeping, ensuring compliance with both local US and international regulations, and delivering accurate financial reports. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work closely with senior management and gain valuable exposure to cross-border commerce.

Key Responsibilities

  • Core Bookkeeping & Transaction Encoding (Primary Focus):

    • Manage and record all day-to-day financial transactions in the general ledger.

    • Accurately process and encode Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).

    • Record monthly payroll/salaries journals and employee compensation records.

    • Track, encode, and manage depreciation for company fixed assets.

    • Process daily banking transactions and electronic payments.

  • Reconciliations & Month-End:

    • Perform routine bank and balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accurate data matching.

    • Help maintain tight financial controls and clear paper trails.

  • Tax & Cross-Border Compliance:

    • Monitor state-by-state economic nexus and prepare US Sales Tax returns (experience with automation tools is a plus).

    • Assist with intercompany invoicing and documentation between the US entity and Belgium HQ.

  • Audit & Reporting Support:

    • Support senior management with year-end accounts closing.

    • Help prepare documentation and maintain strong relationships with external auditors, fiduciaries, and suppliers.

Requirements

  • Education & Experience: * Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or an Accounting Technician qualification (or equivalent degree/experience).

    • 1–3 years of proven experience in a transactional accounting or bookkeeping role (open to sharp, enthusiastic junior profiles).

  • Technical Skills:

    • Proficiency in accounting software (knowledge of NetSuite is highly preferred).

    • Advanced Google Suite or MS Excel skills.

  • Languages: Fluent in English; knowledge of French is a strong asset due to our Belgian headquarters.

  • Soft Skills:

    • A high degree of attention to detail and strong organizational skills—you take pride in clean data entry.

    • A proactive problem solver who enjoys working as part of a collaborative, cross-functional team.

    • Excellent communication skills for managing supplier, auditor, and administration relationships.

    • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and consistently respect deadlines.
