Job Title: Accounts Payable Accountant

Reports To: Accounting Manager

Position Summary
The Accounts Payable Accountant is responsible for managing the full-cycle accounts payable process while supporting general accounting functions, month-end close, and audit activities. This role requires strong GAAP knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work cross-functionally to ensure accurate financial reporting and continuous process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Review, verify, and process vendor invoices to ensure accuracy, proper authorization, and compliance with company policies
- Perform three-way matching of invoices, purchase orders, and receiving documentation
- Prepare and process weekly and bi-weekly payment runs, including ACH, wire transfers, and checks
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
- Maintain complete and accurate accounts payable records and supporting documentation
- Serve as a primary point of contact for vendor inquiries, ensuring professional and timely responses
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual account reconciliations related to accounts payable and other assigned balance sheet accounts
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries and accruals as needed
- Analyze financial data, investigate variances, and support accurate financial reporting
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal accounting policies, and internal controls
- Support internal and external audits by preparing and providing required documentation
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, increase efficiency, and strengthen internal controls
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and support business operations
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- Minimum of 3+ years of accounts payable or related accounting experience, AND 2+ years of general accounting experience
- Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and accounting best practices
- Experience with SAP HANA or similar ERP systems
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Proven ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team
- Continuous improvement mindset with a focus on process optimization
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in Mandarin Chinese is a plus but not required
- CPA candidate or progress toward certification is a plus
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary Range: $55,000-$75,000 annually (based on experience and qualifications)
