Summary: Business Development Manager – Contract Logistics and Warehousing
This role will focus on identifying new business opportunities, building lasting relationships with clients, and driving revenue by offering tailored Contract Logistics and Warehousing service solutions that optimize supply chain efficiency. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a proven track record in the logistics and warehousing industry, excellent communication skills, and the ability to deliver innovative solutions in a competitive market. The Business Development Manager is responsible for acquiring CL business, maintaining existing business, and using the existing customer base to grow business and relationships within the United States. The BDM represents OIA Global to new and existing customers in person or by phone/email/video conference. Actively sell the OIA service portfolio with a focus on CL and Warehousing to existing and potential customers and increases sales and gross profit for the company in general and acts according to the OIA Global Mission Statement and make new and existing customers aware of it.
Salary Range: $120,000 - $140,000 annually
Salary range is competitive and varies based on location and experience.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Strategic Business Development
- Identify and target new business opportunities within the logistics and warehousing sector.
- Develop and execute strategies to penetrate new markets and expand existing client accounts.
- Conduct thorough market research and competitor analysis to stay ahead of industry trends.
- Primary focus is BDM sales in the United States; however, this can expand to additional bordering countries where opportunity is identified and no sales resource in position in that country.
- Discuss and agree upon with operations/P&L owners any possible service requirements outside the standard service portfolios before offering to customers.
- Continuously research existing & new accounts, identify key players, and generate interest on existing or new OIA products or industry updates.
- Achieve and exceed revenue targets by securing new contracts and maximizing existing accounts.
Solution Development and Proposal Management
- Collaborate with operations, supply chain, and engineering teams to design and deliver customized logistics and warehousing solutions.
- Prepare detailed proposals, cost analyses, and service agreements.
- Present business solutions to prospective clients and negotiate terms to secure contracts in partnership with operations.
- Responsible for communicating and supporting RFQs with the OIA bid team/product owners. Make sure our response is professional, timely and competitive.
Client Relationship Management
- Building credible relationships with customers in order to create, manage and close new business opportunities.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring satisfaction and addressing any concerns.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their logistics needs and propose tailored solutions.
- Actively work with the platforms provided to support your sales (Linkedin / Zoom Info etc.)
- Maintain database/sales funnel with accurate and current customer contact details (same for prospects) in the CRM.
- Maintain a current and valuable pipeline of opportunities.
- Develop existing accounts as assigned by the business to increase the share of the wallet for OIA.
- Work closely with internal teams, including operations, marketing, and finance, to ensure seamless execution of projects.

Represent OIA at:
- Trade Exhibitions
- Webinars
- Events
- Meetings with customers and potential customers
Other Responsibilities
- Other sales-related duties as assigned by Director
- Provide feedback to improve service offerings and customer experiences.
- Prepares reports of business transactions and keeps expenses accounts.

Education and Experience:
- 5+ years in business development within the logistics, supply chain, or warehousing industry a must have.
- Strong experience and understanding of contract logistics, warehousing solutions, and supply chain optimization.
Physical Requirements:
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds
- A minimum of 25% travel within the region is required.
