Small Commercial Lines Assistant Account Manager
Assistant Account Managers are primarily responsible for offering support to the Account Managers on the commercial lines staff while creating and maintaining strong relationships with customers, underwriters, and other industry professionals.
Duties of an Assistant Account Manager include but are not limited to:
• Maintain a Property & Casualty license along with keeping up with Continuing Education.
• Understanding and following the Basic Procedure Manual and Workflow Manual.
• Only using approved Action Codes in AMS 360.
• Following up and completing open suspense’s daily.
• Keeping accurate notation and documentation in the agency management system.
• Servicing and selling commercial insurance products to prospective and existing clients.
• Establish & maintain good working relationships with company personnel (underwriters, marketing representatives, companies service center, and claims representatives).
• Providing quality customer service to existing and prospective clients.
• Proactively retaining accounts when applicable.
• Servicing an assigned book of business.
• Staying up to date on new insurance products and market/industry trends.
• The ability to understand and analyze insurance coverage and policy forms.
• Strong written, oral and phone communication skills
• Organize, set, and maintain priorities.
• Working knowledge and/or experience with AMS360, Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Teams), ACORD forms, and basic online quoting platforms.
• Collecting payment information, uploading payments to various company websites, answer billing questions and recording activity notes in AMS360.
• Assist Account Managers in completing checklists and coverage reviews.
• Prepare and mail out Agency forms and letters as needed.
• Assist with replacement cost estimators, binders, loss runs, etc. as needed.
• Assist small commercial lines staff with various projects as needed.
• Act as primary back up to Account Managers while on PTO.
• Enter/update remarket information for commercial submissions and quoting as needed.
• Collaborate with staff members from other departments to provide total account solutions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
