Role Description
This is a part-time/ per diem on-site role for a Direct Support Professional at Riverson Health Care, Inc. (The Care Ranch) located in Lincoln, CA. The Direct Support Professional will be responsible for providing support and assistance to individuals with disabilities in their daily activities, including personal care, transportation, and recreational activities.

Qualifications
1. Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
2. Shall be at least 18 years of age.
3. Must complete and past the first 35-hour competency-based training course
(Direct Support Professional Training) within the first 12 months of employment, and
complete and pass the second 35-hour competency-based training course within the first
24 months of employment.
4. Must maintain current certification of CPR (including training of abdominal thrust
technique) and First Aid certified through approved class attendance and hands-on
instruction.
5. Must have verified health screening including TB test within one year prior to working
with facility to ensure good health condition to implement job duties.
6. Able and willing to obtain DOJ/FBI fingerprint clearance prior to working with the
residents.
7. Have a valid driver’s license and be able and willing to transport residents, as needed, and
maintain and have current insurance.
8. Able and willing to attend all training courses required by The Care Ranch, Regional
Center, and Community Care Licensing in relation to providing care and services to
persons with development disabilities in an Adult Residential Facility.
9. Must have Pro-Act certification, taught by the Licensee, within 30 days of hire.
10. Understand person-centered planning and commitment to person-entered practices.
11. Obtain a Water Safety Certificate upon hire.
12. Compliance with continuing education units; a minimum of 12 hours of continuing
education within each twelve-month period following the assumption of the duties.

Communication:

1. Must be able to read, write and speak English for communication with direct care staff,
professionals, residents, agencies, etc.
2. Willing to be trained in assistive technology and communication devices.
