The Senior Cost Accountant is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and evaluating financial data to determine the costs of business activities, such as raw material purchases, inventory, and labor. This role is vital for developing and executing data-driven pricing strategies that align with business objectives. The successful candidate will possess strong analytical skills, financial modeling capabilities, and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments to enhance profitability and support strategic decision-making.ย 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Fixed Asset Management
  • Project set up and maintenance
  • Develop Proposal Pricing
  • Maintains accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.
  • Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
  • Maintains financial security by following internal controls.
  • Answers accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulations.

Secondary Responsibilities:

  • Support Monthly Billing Support
  • Support Month End Close and Financial Statement creation
  • Back up activities: Expense reporting, Time, and Payroll


SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

Required:

  • Bachelorโ€™s or Masterโ€™s degree in Accounting/Finance
  • Minimum 5-7 years experience in Accounting/Finance
  • Minimum 3-5 years experience in Pricing Development
  • Government contracting experience
  • Familiar with all contract types: FFP, T&M, CPFF, COST
  • US citizenship required

Preferred:

  • Deltek Costpoint experience
  • Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills
  • Proposal writing experience
  • Attention to Detail
