Role Overview
We are seeking a results-driven Speech and Debate Teacher to:
- Build a classroom culture where students develop confidence and a passion for public speaking and debate.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop a high-quality, competitive speech and debate program.
- Engage students with thought-provoking, real-world material.
- Prepare scholars for city, state, and national competitions.
- Participate in ongoing professional development with individualized feedback to support continuous growth.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (or in progress) prior to the start date.
- Strong academic record.
- Proven excellence in debate—either through collegiate competition or coaching at the middle/high school level.
- Passion for speech, debate, and teaching.
- Ability to set ambitious goals and lead by example.
- Confident presence in front of students and audiences.
- Collaborative mindset and leadership experience (e.g., managing clubs, teams, or student activities).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Experience working with children or adolescents.
- Commitment to fostering a positive, engaging, and inclusive learning environment.
Compensation
Salary Range: $65,000 USD (exact compensation may vary based on skills and experience)
