Position Overview
We are seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our dynamic team in Washington, DC. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing our financial operations, ensuring compliance, and supporting our innovative technological consulting initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
  1. Accounting and Financial Reporting
  • Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Maintain accurate general ledger and reconcile accounts
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes
  • Prepare and organize financial documentation

  1. Payroll and HR Administration
  • Manage full-cycle payroll processing using ADP
  • Ensure accurate and timely employee compensation
  • Maintain employee records and HR documentation
  • Support recruitment and onboarding processes
  • Assist with benefits administration and tracking
  • Process employment-related paperwork and maintain compliance

  1. Accounting Software Management
  • Maintain and update financial records in QuickBooks
  • Generate financial reports and performance dashboards
  • Reconcile bank statements and financial transactions
  • Implement and maintain accounting system controls
  • Provide technical support for accounting software usage

  • Ensure compliance with MBE financial reporting requirements
  • Maintain accurate records for auditing purposes
  • Support annual audit preparation
  • Track and document financial transactions
  • Assist in preparing required financial reports


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 2-4 years of accounting experience
  • Proven proficiency in QuickBooks and ADP
  • Strong understanding of payroll processing
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Basic understanding of HR administrative functions
Technical Skills Requirements
  • Advanced QuickBooks proficiency
  • ADP Payroll system expertise
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Basic data analysis capabilities
  • Understanding of accounting principles and practices
