The Staff Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing timely reports, and supporting daily accounting operations. This role ensures compliance with organizational policies, procedural standards, and applicable regulations while providing high‑quality financial analysis to support decision‑making.

Essential Functions

  • Maintain accurate records of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other financial activities.
  • Prepare, review, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and reports to ensure accuracy, completeness, and alignment with established standards.
  • Analyze financial data to prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Prepare and review financial statements to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
  • Research and resolve financial discrepancies by gathering and analyzing account information.
  • Respond to accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policies and regulations.
  • Prepare month‑end journal entries and perform general ledger account reconciliations within established timelines.
  • Ensure all financial documentation is accurately completed, properly filed, and compliant with audit standards.
  • Responsible for reviewing employee timecards, auditing timekeeping data for accuracy, and completing all assigned payroll checklist tasks to ensure timely and accurate payroll processing.
  • Perform additional duties and tasks as assigned.

Education, Experience & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required.
  • Minimum of two years of accounting experience; healthcare accounting experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) required.
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
