Our client, a dynamic and growing mid -sized independent oil and gas producer<\/b> based in Midland, Texas<\/b>, is seeking a meticulous Senior Accountant<\/b> to join their close -knit finance team. Core Contributions:
<\/h2>
  • Financial Reporting & General Ledger Management:<\/b> Drive monthly and quarterly financial close processes, including the preparation of complex journal entries, comprehensive general ledger reconciliations, and the generation of internal financial statements.
    <\/li>
  • Production & Revenue Accounting Support:<\/b> Assist with the accurate recording and analysis of hydrocarbon production volumes, sales, and corresponding revenues, navigating the unique complexities of oil and gas revenue recognition.
    <\/li>
  • Capital & Operating Expenditure Oversight:<\/b> Monitor, analyze, and ensure proper accounting for exploration, development, and production capital expenditures (CAPEX) as well as operating expenses (OPEX).
    <\/li>
  • Joint Venture (JV) Accounting Coordination:<\/b> Support the preparation and review of joint interest billings (JIBs) and partner reconciliations, ensuring proper allocation and recovery of costs in accordance with joint operating agreements (JOAs).
    <\/li>
  • Compliance & Audit Preparedness:<\/b> Ensure strict adherence to U.S. GAAP and relevant industry regulations. Play a key role in supporting annual external audits by preparing documentation and responding to inquiries.
    <\/li>
  • System Proficiency & Data Integrity:<\/b> Utilize and optimize the company's financial ERP system, serving as a resource for system -related questions, enhancing data quality, and contributing to the development of financial reports.

  • Interdepartmental Collaboration:<\/b> Partner closely with reservoir, operations, land, and engineering departments to facilitate accurate data flow and ensure financial records reflect operational realities.

  • Process Optimization:<\/b> Identify and implement efficiencies within accounting procedures, leveraging technology and best practices to enhance the accuracy and timeliness of financial data.

    What We're Looking For:

    The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
    <\/p>

    • Experience:<\/b> 3 -5 years<\/b> of progressive accounting or financial analysis experience, with non -negotiable experience within the Upstream Exploration & Production (E&P) segment of the oil and gas industry.<\/b>
      <\/li>
    • Education:<\/b> Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited university.
      <\/li>
    • Technical Acumen:<\/b> Demonstrated proficiency with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems common in the oil and gas sector.
      <\/li>
    • Industry Knowledge:<\/b> Solid grasp of accounting principles (GAAP) as applied to the oil and gas industry, including concepts such as full cost/successful efforts, depletion, and asset retirement obligations (AROs).
      <\/li>
    • Key Skills:<\/b> Exceptional analytical and organizational skills, a meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment. Strong communication skills are essential for collaborating across teams.
      <\/li>
    • Software Proficiency:<\/b> Advanced user of Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel) and various accounting software.

      • Annual Salary:<\/b> A competitive base salary ranging from $80,000 – $95,000 per year<\/b>, dependent on your experience and qualifications.
