Accountant

Position Overview:

The Accountant is responsible for performing core accounting functions and conducting financial analysis to support the organization, utilizing the company’s ERP system.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

• Accounts Payable Management- responsible to organize and ensure payables are issued in a timely and accurate manner and coded to the correct GL account. 
• Accounts Receivable Management- issue invoices to customers, apply payment to proper account, keep track of accounts that are past due and follow up as appropriate.
• Inventory-input all product received, product sold, product returned, and set appropriate pricing
• Specialized Departmental Accounting- Special emphasis on agronomy and construction department accounting functions.  
• Reconciliation- company credit cards, bank accounts, etc. 
• Financial Statement Analysis- prepare and analyze financial statements such as balance sheets, income statements, profit and loss statements and make appropriate recommendations 
• Audits- involvement in tax and accounting audits 
• Cash Flow- Assisting with cash flow management and loans 
• Compliance and Confidentiality- ensures WFR is compliant with all federal, state, and local legal requirements and laws, maintaining a high level of confidentiality and authenticity

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Agricultural Business, or a related field preferred.  Associate's degree required. 
• One year of experience in accounting or finance.

Work Environment 

• Schedule: Must work scheduled days and hours assigned by manager. Must work full time, a minimum of 40 hours per week. Schedule will be Monday-Friday 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with additional hours as needed.
• Environment: Indoors and outdoors. Nosie level is usually quiet to moderate. Majority of time will be spent in an office environment.
• Travel: Minimal. May have to travel occasionally for meetings, supplies, etc.
