Description

We are looking for a reliable and precise professional to help us properly maintain our general ledger and be responsible for accurate and timely financial records for the Organization. Duties include preparing financial statements, analyzing and reconciling accounts and providing information to department managers by researching and analyzing date and preparing reports as needed.

 

Role and Responsibilities

  • Oversee the accurate and timely reconciliation of all bank and balance sheet accounts
  • Responsible for all cash processes
  • Review balance sheet account reconciliations as part of the close process
  • Cross-train to be able to enter AP invoices, and review and process payroll as necessary
  • Interface subsidiary revenue systems to GL and reconcile
  • Enforce existing internal control policies and procedures
  • Assist the Controller and the outside CPA Audit Firm in the audit of organizations financial and programmatic operations, prepare audit schedules
  • Assist the Controller in the coordination and preparation of the annual budget
  • Timely completion of census, tax and other survey reports
  • Other duties and special projects as deemed necessary

Qualifications

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting or other related field (required)
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in accounting department or other financial environment
  • Experience with computerized financial systems
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Microsoft Office proficiency with advanced Excel skills (e.g. pivot tables, macros)
  • Experience in efficient, accurate and timely month-end closing and production of financial statements
  • Ability to complete multiple tasks within critical deadlines in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to maintain highest degree of confidentiality
  • Effective, clear and concise verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational, problem solving and decision making skills
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of, and respect for, the mission of the Staenberg-Loup Jewish Community Center
  • Knowledge of the rules and regulations of the Staenberg-Loup Jewish Community Center, including its Employee Handbook, and ability to abide by them

 

 

Physical/Mental Requirements (ADA Compliance)

  • Physical demands: The position requires the incumbent to remain in the sitting position for prolonged hours. While performing duties of job, employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.
  • Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to fifteen (15) pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Full-Time employees of the JCC are considered benefits-eligible.

The JCC contributes a portion of medical, dental, and vision plan premiums. The JCC proudly pays for 100% of Basic Life Insurance, AD&D, Short-Term Disability, and Long-Term Disability coverage for benefits eligible employees. We also provide additional voluntary benefit plans.

The JCC has a 401(K) Plan available for elective deferral contributions for employees over 21 years of age with no waiting period. The JCC matches 50% of employee contributions, up to 3%, on a 5-year vesting schedule.

Paid Time Off is a day-one benefit, accrued based on years of service and in compliance with Colorado Health Families & Workplaces Act. First-year, benefits-eligible employees may accrue up to 120 hours of Paid Time Off in their first year of service. The JCC also provides paid-holidays and benefits-eligible employees are awarded up to 4 additional “Floating Holidays” per year, prorated based on date of hire.
