Description

The Financial Accountant responsibilities include the reconciliation and management of the Investment Accounting process and Investment Portfolio Management System used in the monitoring of Vizo Financial’s investment portfolio, monthly preparation of the 5310 regulatory report, daily cash monitoring, assisting in generating accurate period ending financial statements, monthly board and ALCO financial reports, and the compilation and monitoring of financial data and maintenance of databases to support financial management activities within Vizo Financial.


This full-time position is primarily work from home, however, the candidate will occasionally need to attend mandatory meetings, required training or cultural events in person. Therefore, the individual may need to go into the office and must be based within a reasonable commuting distance to our Greensboro, NC campus office.

Requirements

The Position: The ideal candidate must have strong working knowledge of Investment Accounting & GAAP. CPA certification preferred.


Primary responsibilities include:

  • Vizo Investment Accounting: Responsible for the accurate and timely input of all Vizo Financial’s marketable securities in third party investment accounting system, including submission of trade information. Responsible for accurate and timely posting of investment accounting reports to the General Ledger. Accurately entering and monitoring of safekeeping activity, including trades (purchases/sales/free deliveries), and posting all principal and interest payment payments when received from third parties. Download daily safekeeping, wire, and transaction reports from safekeepers. Pledge securities to FHLB/FRB/US Bank to adjust available credit as directed by Treasury. Provide relevant investment information and reporting to stakeholders. Accrue for/record interest & dividends on bank balances and CUSO investments.
  • Investment Portfolio Management System Support and Processing: On a daily basis, review and accurately maintain all data on the IPMS report for projecting accurate net margins for the organization. Responsible for the accurate input of numbers and set-up of new investments as well as maintaining correct formulas and cross-referencing of spreadsheet cells in the system.  Maintain daily log of pertinent data. Maintain trade tracker with updated and correct information.
  • Regulatory Reporting: 5310 Regulatory Report Preparation: Gathering of all data required to complete 5310 from both internal and external sources. Verification of all data files available as pdf and in proper print layout for reviewer. Preparation and reconciliation of monthly master template for 5310 including updating all investment related reports and manual data needed for 5310 preparation. Preparation and submission of monthly investment securities report to NCUA, as well as other sundry reports requested by the NCUA or NCCUD. 
  • Financial Monthly Closing / Reconciliations / ALCO Reporting
  • Liquidity Tracking / EBA / Mail 

Seeking candidates with:

  • Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) from four-year college or university; or three to five years’ accounting experience or a related field.
  • CPA preferred.
  • Microsoft Office Suite of applications (Outlook, Office 365, Word, Excel), general internet knowledge, Power Point, web presentation software (WebEx, Zoom, etc.).
  • Knowledge of Data visualization software (Tableau, Power BI) 

Salary Range: Starting at $75K - $80K


Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
