We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Cost Accountant to join our team in Midway, Tennessee. This role plays a critical part in managing accounts receivable, processing payables, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting both domestic and international accounting operations. The ideal candidate has a strong background in cost accounting, manufacturing accounting and can thrive in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail and accuracy.

This position offers opportunities for cross-training with other accounting team members, professional growth, and exposure to international finance coordination.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage accounts payable invoices from overseas suppliers, including logging, coding, and distribution to A/P specialists.
  • Support A/P with invoicing and payment issues.
  • Maintain monthly, quarterly, and year-end reporting logs for A/P and sales activities for SRK-Japan.
  • Create monthly payment schedules for wire and ACH payments.
  • Assist external auditors during the annual audit process.
  • Generate invoices for trial customer orders, non-inventory sales, and expense reimbursements.
  • Maintain exchange rate impact records and financial reporting for accounting coordinators.
  • Prepare journal entries for in-transit inventory, royalty, sales, RMA, and other financial transactions.
  • Prepare management reports and financial data for monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements.
  • Track and maintain fiscal investment plan balances against business requests and provide reporting to Japanese coordinators.
  • Serve as liaison for Japanese coordinators, including travel arrangements, housing support, document translation, and communication support between local and Japanese staff.
  • Complete special requests and other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent training/experience.
  • Proven experience in cost accounting and manufacturing accounting.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, journal entries, and financial reporting.
  • Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and international finance coordination is a plus.
  • Detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to handle multiple priorities.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
