Payroll Accountant


The Payroll Accountant is responsible for processing payroll accurately and efficiently while ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. This role maintains precise financial records and supports key accounting functions within the organization. Success in this position requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect and verify employee timekeeping information.
     
  • Calculate and process employee salaries, wages, bonuses, and other forms of compensation.
     
  • Ensure timely and accurate payroll processing and distribution.
     
  • Review, reconcile, and maintain payroll reports and records.
     
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee payroll records.
     
  • Reconcile payroll accounts with the general ledger.
     
  • Generate and distribute payroll reports as needed.
     
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll matters.
     
  • Participate in internal and external payroll audits.
     
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies in payroll records.
     
  • Assist with Accounts Payable processing when needed.
     
  • Monitor and verify bank balances for accuracy.
     
  • Perform bank reconciliations.
     
  • Manage and maintain ATM funds and petty cash, and perform bank runs when necessary.
     
  • Maintain and process Rooms and Meals Tax reporting.
     
  • Support and review Night Audit processes.
     
  • Manage and process chargebacks.
     
  • Provide additional accounting or administrative support as required.
Requirements

   

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred). 
  • Previous experience in payroll processing and accounting.  
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.  
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.  
  • Proficiency in payroll software.
  • Must have advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
