Opportunity Highlights

Our client is a leading publicly-traded biotechnology company in Santa Monica, CA.is seeking a talented and experienced Senior Accountant to join their dynamic Accounting team and play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial reporting.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the full cycle of monthly financial transactions, including processing, recording, and reconciling.
• Oversee and perform general ledger (GL) accounting tasks, such as account reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close procedures.
• Prepare and analyze various accounting reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Maintain strong internal controls and ensure adherence to GAAP accounting standards.
• Support the annual audit process by providing timely and accurate information to external auditors.
• Partner with other departments across the organization to ensure a smooth and efficient financial close process.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of accounting functions.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA licensure preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior accounting role within a publicly traded company.
• Proven experience with general ledger accounting principles and practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with all levels of the organization.
• Proficiency in financial accounting software (e.g., Oracle, SAP, NetSuite).
• Experience within the life sciences industry a plus.
