Description

Job Purpose: Senior Accountants take ownership of reporting costs, productivity, margins and expenditures for companies and organizations. 


Summary of Essential Job Duties               

  • Maintains general ledger by transferring subsidiary accounts, preparing a trial balance, and reconciling entries.
  • Calculate and Record monthly Subscription Based Revenue             
  • Prepare and maintain monthly customer allowance accruals related to coops and other promotional related allowances      
  • Assist with the recording of payroll, benefits and bonus entries and accruals.          
  • Assist with Fixed Assets and Leases entries and research.             
  • Summarizes financial status by collecting information and preparing balance sheet, profit and loss, and other statements.
  • Completes external audit by analyzing and scheduling general ledger accounts and providing information for auditors.   
  • Ensures the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions.
  • Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and   analyzing account information.       
  • Maintains and balances subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies.    
  • Verify, allocate, post and reconcile accounts payable and receivable            
  • Support month-end and year-end close process              
  • Performing other accounting duties and supporting junior staff as required or assigned.                              
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting/finance.
  • CPA preferred but not required.
  • Experience with financial reporting requirements. 
  • Strong financial analysis skills.   
  • Strong organizational and stress management skills.  
  • Must be an outstanding communicator, both written and verbal, and have established skills in accuracy, organization, and working in a high-volume environment.  
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly with Excel.             
  • Highly detail-oriented and organized               
  • Ability to meet a constant stream of deadlines              
  • Ability to handle AR reserve accounts and promotional rebates with proficiency with significant customers (Walmart, Bass Pro, Academy, etc.)   
  • Able to maneuver within Excel with Pivot Tables, lookups, etc.            
  • Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively with different levels of employees
