The Staff Accountant at the Whitewater Center (Whitewater) is responsible for assisting with the accounting functions at the Whitewater Center. The Staff Accountant is a full-time, on-site, benefit-eligible position and reports to the Controller.

 

Responsibilities 

  • Review, verify and record daily work from all point-of-sale locations.
  • Reconciling various transaction systems and financial accounts.
  • Assisting with maintaining the general ledger system.
  • Assisting with the month-end closing activities.
  • Assisting the external auditors.
  • Providing financial support to the various operating teams, as needed.
  • Providing support with the various software applications and supporting databases, as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Requirements

  • Solid communication, technology, analytical and management skills. 
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • One or more years of relevant experience and a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and during other Whitewater events as needed.

 

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to work outdoors for sustained periods of time in all weather and environmental conditions. 
  • Must be able to lift and carry at least 50 pounds. 
  • Must be able to bend, stand, lean, and kneel on a regular basis and for sustained periods of time.
  • Must be able to safely self-transport over uneven terrain or in a confined space.
  • Must be able to work in shared spaces with other employees and customers.
  • All positions as Whitewater require employees to report and work onsite at Whitewater locations.
