Overview
This position will play an integral role in the
accounting for key business areas, account reconciliations and income statement
variance analysis to produce timely and accurate financial statements for a
growing publicly traded company (NASDAQ: STKS). We are looking for an
individual who thrives working in a fast-paced environment with opportunities
to grow their career with our company.
Essential Functions
- Primary areas of responsibility include:
- Accounting for inventory and cost of goods sold, including
analyses and research of variances from expectations
- Perform trend analyses and prepare accruals as necessary for
restaurant operating expenses, such as, security services, outside
cleaning services, and DJ services.
- Accounting for payroll-related expenses, including
period-end wage and benefits accruals.
- Accounting for all company credit card expenses.
- Other journal entries and accruals as necessary.
- Analyze income statement accounts for necessary accruals and
prepare associated journal entries.
- Perform account reconciliations for assigned balance sheet
accounts.
- Execute usual accounting functions, which include operating
the general ledger system and month-end close work.
- Execute work in accordance with standard operating procedures
and adherence to internal controls.

Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
- CPA preferred.
- 2-4 years of accounting experience required.
- Public accounting experience preferred. Big 4 a plus.
- Experience with and knowledge of ASC842 preferred.
- Strong General Accounting skills and GAAP knowledge with
experience in month end close.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel required.
- Can prioritize workload and perform multiple tasks to meet
deadlines.
- Candidates must have excellent communication skills (oral and
written), the ability to interact with all levels of management through
the organization and the initiative to get the job done.
