Position Overview: The Staff Accountant plays a key role in managing the financial records and reporting of Hancock & Moore. This position is responsible for ensuring accurate financial transactions, compliance with accounting standards, and supporting operational efficiency. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and experience working in a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports.
• Support budgeting and forecasting activities.
• Ensure compliance with regulations, accounting principles, and company policies.
• Perform cost analysis, inventory accounting, and variance analysis.
• Assist with audits and coordinate with external auditors.
• Contribute to process improvements and financial strategy.
• Perform other accounting-related tasks as required.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis).
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
• CPA or CMA certification (or working toward certification).
• Experience with cost accounting and inventory management.
• Familiarity with ERP systems used in manufacturing.
